## How it works

1. A global hotkey (default ⌥-Space, configurable) opens a search panel from any app.
2. The user types a few letters — fuzzy match against every open window title,
   document name, URL, and browser tab.
3. Pressing Enter brings the matching window to front, switches to the matching
   tab, or launches the app if it isn't running.
4. Frecency ranking — most-used windows surface at the top automatically.
5. Tags and favorites — pin windows you live in, group related work, filter
   to Favorites / Recent / Stale with one keystroke.

## Common questions

**How is WindowHopper different from Cmd-Tab or Mission Control?**
Cmd-Tab switches between apps, not windows. Mission Control shows everything
but doesn't let you type to find it. WindowHopper lets you type a few letters
and jump straight to the specific window you mean — including the document
title in your text editor, the URL of a tab, or the conversation in Slack.

**Does it work with browser tabs?**
Yes. Tabs inside Chrome, Safari, Arc, Brave, Edge, Firefox, Terminal, Finder,
and any other app that exposes its tabs to macOS are searchable alongside
windows.

**Is it a subscription?**
No. One-time purchase, no recurring fees, no in-app purchases. Free minor
updates within the current major version.

**Can I use it on multiple Macs I own?**
Yes. The licence covers every Mac the buyer personally owns; no machine-count
enforcement.
